Introducing Brinton Nicholas Bishop

So a few weeks before Brinton was born, our blog somehow became corrupted. We have asked Google to review the situation and restore the blog, but they never got back to us. If any of your blogs have been tainted by association with our blog, we apologize! Since Google never replied, we have transfered our old posts to a new blog, which you must have found. Now on to the real reason you are reading the blog today, Brinton!

Brinton Nicholas Bishop was born March 30, 2010 at the Medical Center of Aurora, two weeks early. He was 6 pounds, 6 ounces and 19 inches long. Next Tuesday he will be 8 weeks old! The labor and delivery went very smoothly. Christina decided to have an unmedicated birth and everything went very well. She did a great job and only had to push for 20 minutes! Feeding has gone very well and though Brinton started a little small, he's quickly catching up!

Brinton is very good-natured and sweet. He hardly cries and when he does, it's mostly little grunts. At first, the only time he really cried was his bath, but now he has learned to like that too! He is a great sleeper and slept in 4 hour stretches almost from the get-go. Now he sleeps up to 6 hours at a time! We feel very lucky for that. He is learning to smile and is more interactive now than at first, which has been a lot of fun.

We have been so grateful for the support of all those around us. My parents flew in the day of the delivery because they didn't want to wait until the trip they had planned for two weeks after the due date. They left the next morning and Chrissy's mom came the following day. She cleaned our whole house, cooked and offered support while we were adjusting to life with our new arrival. When my parents came for a second visit, they were equally helpful cooking meals, fixing my bike, doing housework/repairs and  more. Mostly it was nice to have people we love around us during this very special time. Friends from church have also been very helpful with meals and babysitting for choir rehearsals and performances.

We love Brinton very much and we are enjoying being parents. Now that the blog is fixed we will be sure to keep you all updated with pictures and stories of our adventures!
